If you are preparing a drink of dark, leafy greens, be sure to add some cucumber. Many of the leafy greens have a distinct and slight unpleasant flavor. Cucumber will not only mask this taste, but adds a refreshing flavor to your drink. Cucumber is also very nutritious, especially if you don’t peel it beforehand.


When you are juicing apples, pick the sweetest and ripest ones you can find. Bruised apples are fine, but you must cut out their bruises. Rome, Gala, Red Delicious, and Fuji apples are the best to use due to their sweet juice.


Leafy greens, such as kale or spinach, are among the healthiest ingredients for juicing. Shoot for making your juices contain around 50-75% greens, and then throw in some other vegetables and fruits for flavoring. Juices made entirely of fruits would tend to be too sugary and might cause a blood sugar spike.
